It has been a wild six weeks into the 2021 college football season. There have been plenty of upsets and big matchups all across the nation.

Now, for the first time since Oct. 12, 2014, the top 4 of the AP Poll does not contain Ohio State, Alabama, or Clemson after the release of the AP Poll for Week 7. The teams that were in the top 4 at that point in 2014 were Mississippi State, Florida State, Ole Miss, and Baylor.

It should be noted that only Florida State from that group made the College Football Playoff along with Alabama and Ohio State. The Buckeyes would eventually win the National Championship.

Alabama currently ranks 5th in the AP Poll, while Ohio State ranks 6th in the nation. Both teams have a clear path to the Playoff and control their destiny by winning their conference championship. Clemson is currently sitting at an overall record of 3-2, with two of its losses coming within six points.
