Ohio State is crushing opponents this season. Everyone knows that.

Part of the reason is quarterback Justin Fields. Another is the Buckeyes’ defensive turnaround from a season ago.

But maybe the biggest reason is because of running back J.K. Dobbins. Dobbins, a junior, has had to split time in the backfield in years past.

This year, though, Dobbins has carried the load. Through seven games, he has amassed 947 yards on 134 carries and seven touchdowns.

Dobbins, with 3,387 rushing yards over his two-and-a-half year career, is now in the top five of all Ohio State running backs. He’s got at least a few games to go this season and potentially another season in 2020.

Overtaking Ezekiel Elliott for second all-time isn’t exactly impossible this season, and would certainly happen next year if he does return to Columbus.
