Jack Sawyer appears to be very motivated. The Ohio State defensive end used some choice words to describe his team’s upcoming matchup against Georgia in the Peach Bowl.
The Buckeyes collide with the Bulldogs with a spot in the College Football Playoff National Championship on the line. Ohio State looks to hand Georgia its first loss since December of last year.
According to Sawyer, Ohio State’s defense has been “very pissed off” in preparing for the Peach Bowl. There’s no denying the loss to Michigan left a bitter taste for Ohio State.
OSU defensive end Jack Sawyer: “This whole month of bowl prep, our defense has been playing very pissed off in practice.”

Sawyer’s comments might come from the Buckeyes being disrespected. While Georgia is ranked 8th in total defense, Ohio State is not far behind at 11. The Buckeyes have given up just over 303 yards per game and 26 offensive touchdowns this season. The Bulldogs have allowed 292.1 yards per game and 16 offensive touchdowns.
Ohio State defensive coordinator Jim Knowles might also be giving his unit a bit of extra motivation. The Bulldogs have dominated with a strong defense the last two seasons and from the play of quarterback Stetson Bennett. The combination of Sawyer and J.T. Tuimoloau will look to halt the Bulldogs’ championship run on Saturday.
