Jack Sawyer praises Devin Brown, shows respect for Cody Schrader
Jack Sawyer has been one of the most productive defenders for the Ohio State Buckeyes this season.
The defensive end racked up 44 total tackles and finished 2nd on the team with 3.5 sacks. Sawyer also defended 2 passes and forced 2 fumbles. Sawyer is now preparing to lead the Buckeye defense against a high-powered Missouri Tiger offense in the Cotton Bowl.
Ahead of the matchup, Sawyer praised QB Devin Brown, who is set to make his first college start for the Buckeyes in the game.
“He’s a really confident kid,” declared Sawyer. “What I like about him, is that he’s going to go out there and let it rip. He’s super talented, skilled, and I’m just excited to see him show what he can do.”
The defensive end also praised his opponents, specifically star running back Cody Schrader and quarterback Brady Cook.
“His (Schrader’s) story is awesome,” Sawyer stated. “I don’t think it makes us look at him any different. He’s a great running back and we’re excited to play against him.”
Schrader took the nation by storm in 2023 and led the SEC with 1,489 rushing yards.
“(In Brady Cook) I see a kid who’s got a big arm, who’s athletic, and he can throw the ball really well,” Sawyer said of the Missouri QB. “Really, you just look across the whole team, and they’re solid everywhere.”
