Jack Sawyer knows that Jim Knowles is bringing his 4-2-5 defense to Columbus. With that defense, he is bringing some changes with him from Stillwater per Adam King of 10TV Sports in Columbus, Ohio.
Ohio State DE Jack Sawyer is 1 of the players that is especially see those changes. Knowles has been using him at the ‘Jack’ position, which is a hybrid of DE and LB that can move along the defensive line.
“You can see it every day,” said Sawyer. “Guys are just flying around. This defense has enabled us to fly around and make plays. When you get a bunch of athletes like we have on the defensive side of the ball and unleash us, a bunch of good stuff happens.”
Sawyer is going into the season with a prove it on the field mentality. He believes that talk is cheap when it comes to college football, and isn’t listening to what everyone is saying. The Buckeye is excited for Sept. 3.
“People can talk,” said Sawyer. “People can set expectations for us. It doesn’t mean anything until we step on the field and prove it and show it. We’re all looking forward to September 3rd for obvious reasons, and we’re gonna show everybody what we’re about on the defensive side of the ball this year.”
