Jacksonville Jaguars select Ohio State TE Luke Farrell to start fifth round of 2021 NFL Draft

A seventh Ohio State player has been chosen in the 2021 NFL Draft. The Jacksonville Jaguars kicked off the fifth round by selecting tight end Luke Farrell with the No. 145 overall pick.

The 6-foot-6, 258-pound Farrell amassed 34 receptions, 380 yards, and four touchdowns during his time at Ohio State. Farrell arrived at Ohio State as a consensus 4-star tight end prospect, ranking No. 6 nationally at his position by ESPN.
Farrell, who appeared in 44 games as a Buckeye, was a four-time academic All-Big Ten Conference honoree. Farrell redshirted his freshman season in 2016.
Farrell is reuniting with Urban Meyer, who recruited him while at Ohio State. Farrell will also be reunited with former Buckeyes Carlos Hyde (RB), Andrew Norwell (OG), and DaVon Hamilton (DT). He will get the opportunity to team up with No. 1 overall pick, Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, in Jacksonville.
Other Ohio State players selected in the 2021 NFL Draft include Justin Fields, Pete Werner, Wyatt Davis, Trey Sermon, Baron Browning, and Tommy Togiai.
