Jaxon Smith-Njigba has yet to play a complete game in the 2022 season.

Smith-Njigba suffered a hamstring injury in the season opener against Notre Dame. The receiver played against Toledo and Iowa but could not finish either contest.

According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, Smith-Njigba will not play in Week 9 against Penn State.

Smith-Njigba did not travel with the team and his return is uncertain.

In Week 8 against Iowa, Smith-Njigba collected 1 catch for 7 yards before leaving the game. The receiver has 5 catches for 43 yards on the season.

In 2021, Smith-Njigba was one of the most dynamic receivers in the nation, collecting 95 catches for 1,606 yards receiving and 9 TDs. Without the star WR, the Buckeye offense has relied more heavily on Emeka Egbuke and Marvin Harrison Jr.

The Buckeyes take on Penn State in Happy Valley in Week 9, seeking to remain perfect in 2022. Kickoff is set for noon ET on FOX.
