Ohio State is without star receiver Garrett Wilson for the road trip vs. Nebraska, but Jaxon Smith-Njigba is stepping up in a huge way.
Throughout much of the first half, Smith-Njigba has been the favorite target of QB C.J. Stroud. Stroud has hooked up with Smith-Njigba on 8 catches for 148 and a touchdown.
The touchdown was a brilliant 75-yard score by the wide receiver. Stroud hit Smith-Njigba with a throw that was just over 5 yards beyond the line of scrimmage and let the wide receiver do the rest.
Smith-Njigba made one man miss with a brilliant move and was off to the races:

Smith-Njigba is already up over his previous career-high numbers for catches and receiving yards in a game. His previous best was 7 catches for 145 yards in the game vs. Oregon.
After one half of action, it is already Smith-Njigba’s 4th-straight game of at least 5 catches with 90+ yards receiving as he continues his breakout season.
