Jeff Hafley reasserts commitment to Ohio State throughout College Football Playoff

Jeff Hafley has already accepted the head coaching position at Boston College, but he did not want to leave any doubt about his commitment to the Buckeyes this week.
Hafley is moving on after just one season at Ohio State. He joined the team as a co-DC and secondary coach for 2019, helping to turn the defense around and thrusting his name into the mix for head coaching vacancies around the country in the process.

Though Hafley will be leaving the program, he has already committed to leading Ohio State throughout the College Football Playoff, regardless of how long that goes. During Thursday’s Fiesta Bowl media day, Hafley reasserted his commitment to the Buckeyes. He also indicated he hasn’t missed a single team meeting or practice while working two jobs through the Early Signing Period.
Doug Lesmerises with Cleveland.com shared Hafley’s comments:
“I have not missed a meeting, I have not missed a practice,” Hafley said, explaining flying back from his Boston College introductory news conference and heading straight to the Woody Hayes Athletic Center for practice. “I’m just as demanding, I’m the same guy at practice, this will not change anything in how I approach this.
“This is an opportunity of a lifetime for me and my players and my family. I can assure everyone that I am all in on this thing till the ball is kicked off, through the game and hopefully for another two weeks.”
Hopefully, that opportunity pays off in a national championship for the Buckeyes. Though the defense has been phenomenal all season long, Clemson’s high-powered attack will present a big challenge for Ohio State.
