Smith is a Florida native. He attends Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Opa Locka, Fla.
Despite his commitment to the Buckeyes, programs like Florida, Florida State and Miami have continued to recruit him to stay closer to home.
He’s a major prospect for the Buckeyes and is expected to be the next elite WR to play in Columbus. Smith is the No. 2 overall prospect in the class of 2024, per 247Sports Composite rankings.
Ohio State currently has 4 recruits in the class of 2024, but Smith is the lone 5-star prospect so far. Overall, the group ranks No. 15 nationally according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
