Jeremiah Smith, 5-star WR and OSU commit, hints at enrollment plans
Jeremiah Smith is a 5-star wide receiver and one of the top players in the country for the class of 2024. He’s been committed to Ohio State since December and reiterated his commitment while hinting at his enrollment plans recently.
Smith was in action Saturday playing for Chaminade-Madonna Prep in a nationally televised high school game against St. Frances Academy (Maryland). He scored a go-ahead touchdown in the 4th quarter before Chaminade-Madonna eventually pulled away for the win.

Smith was interviewed on the sidelines and asked what he’s trying to show Ohio State fans moving forward. He said his goal is to be one of the best to ever come through Columbus and claimed he will be at Ohio State in January, presumably as an early enrollee.
“(I’m hoping to) Show them why I’m coming to Ohio State, to be one of the best receivers to ever come through Ohio State. And I’m coming in January,” said Smith. “I definitely will be there, Go Bucks for sure.”

Smith has maintained his commitment to Ohio State throughout his recruiting process despite in-state programs Florida, Florida State and Miami reportedly making pushes for the elite receiver. The 247 Sports Composite rates Smith as the No. 2 overall player and the top WR in the country for the class of 2024.
As things stand, Smith looks like the latest crowning jewel in Brian Hartline’s elite stretch of WR recruiting for the Buckeyes. Whether or not he can become one of the greatest in Ohio State history and be mentioned in the same breath as David Boston, Chris Olave, Marvin Harrison Jr. or Garrett Wilson remains to be seen.
