Jeremiah Smith would go No. 1 in 2025 NFL Draft if eligible, per draft expert
Jeremiah Smith and the Ohio State Buckeyes are putting on an offensive clinic in the Rose Bowl, as they lead the No. 1 Oregon Ducks by a score of 34-8 at the half.
Quarterback Will Howard has put together an impressive first half, as he has thrown for 269 yards and 3 touchdowns. His number one target has been Smith, who has 5 catches for 161 yards and 2 touchdowns. Smith’s scores went for 45 and 43 yards, respectively, and his performance is catching the eye of NFL Draft personnel all across the country.
Dana Brugler, an NFL Draft analyst for the Athletic, said the freshman wide receiver would be No. 1 in the 2025 NFL Draft if he was eligible.
Julio Jones, oops I mean, Jeremiah Smith would go No. 1 in this draft.
No doubt in my mind. https://t.co/bMyxhuHnPN

“Julio Jones, oops I mean, Jeremiah Smith would go No. 1 in this draft,” Brugler posted on X. “No doubt in my mind.”
Not only is Smith not eligible for next season’s draft, he won’t be eligible until the 2027 NFL Draft as the rules state that a player has to be out of high school for 3 years before being eligible to be drafted. He isn’t the only superstar wide receiver in that class, as Alabama freshman receiver Ryan Williams figures to be right there with him the next couple of seasons.
For now, fans will have to enjoy watching Smith as one of the best players in Ohio State history and hoping he and the Buckeyes can continue to play like they have, and advance to a College Football Playoff semifinal matchup against Texas.
