Mathews shared a clip on his Twitter account showing a few traits OSU fans will love. He doesn’t give up on a play because he has great speed and can make turnovers happen. On this play, Mathews tracks down an opposing running back on a long carry to force a fumble and make a recovery.

On the 247Sports composite rankings, Mathews is rated 4-stars, the No. 5 recruit in the state of Ohio, No. 14 ATH and No. 228 prospect overall in the class of 2023. He pledged to OSU over 40 other scholarship offers.
