Jermaine Mathews, 4-star OSU DB commit, addresses rumors surrounding recruitment
Jermaine Mathews has doubled down on his commitment to Ohio State in spite of recent rumors surrounding his recruitment.
The 2023 cornerback has been involved in many rumors related to the string of decommittments from the Buckeyes, mainly due to NIL-related reasons. Miami seemed to be at the center of these rumors. However, he put those rumors to bed and even went a step further.
“Heard all the Rumors,” Mathews tweeted. “I’m 1000% Locked in with THE Ohio State Buckeyes & I will be graduating early & enrolling in January.”

Buckeye nation can take a sigh of relief as the thin cornerback room will not get thinner by Mathews’ hand. He had been committed since the summer after bursting on the scene from a 3-star to a 4-star and borderline top-100 recruit.
Mathews is an Ohio native from Cincinnati, and it looks like he will stay in-state for his collegiate career.
