Jim Knowles highlights DT Taron Vincent, admits one important role 'not very sexy'

Jim Knowles speaks on Taron Vincent and what he brings to this version of the Ohio State defense. During his Tuesday press conference, Knowles admitted some aspects of Vincent’s play are “not very sexy” but are vital to the defense.

"He has been absolutely consistent since I've been here," he said. "We joke all the time about the double-teams he has to take on. It's not very sexy, but he does the work, and he's been incredibly consistent with it."

Knowles recognizes that playing defensive tackle isn’t glamorous and rarely do you get rewarded publicly but Vincent earned praise for his consistent performance this season. So far this season, Vincent has recorded just 15 tackles but what he provides is just as valuable for Knowles.
