Joe Burrow’s time in Columbus did not end how he was hoping, but he is still thankful for his time with the Buckeyes.

After not winning the starting job during his time at Ohio State, Burrow transferred from the program after graduating. He landed at LSU where he had solid numbers in 2018 before vaulting into a serious contender for the Heisman Trophy in 2019.

During a Friday media session for the Heisman in New York, Dan Hope with 11 Warriors caught up with Burrow. He asked Burrow about the continued support from the Ohio State family after his departure, something Burrow said means a lot to him and his family:

“That’s super special to me because Ohio State has a special place in my heart,” explained Burrow. “I stay in contact with a lot of coaches and a lot of players there, so it means a lot to me and my family.”

Burrow also shared some high praise for current Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, labeling Day “an expert at the QB position.” Burrow even compared Day to LSU passing game coordinator Joe Brady.
