Joe Burrow has come a long way since his time at Athens High School. Now, he’s on the doorstep of a Super Bowl win with the Cincinnati Bengals.

Burrow started his college career at Ohio State as a member of the 2015 recruiting class. He would eventually transfer to LSU where Burrow captured a Heisman Trophy and the 2019 national championship with the Tigers. The Bengals were quick to select Burrow No. 1 overall in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Burrow is now off to his first Super Bowl in just his second NFL season. A win would make him a member of an illustrious group of players that share the same first name.

To this point, Joe Namath and Joe Montana are the only starting QBs ever to win a national title and a Super Bowl in their careers. Namath accomplished the feat at Alabama in college and with the New York Jets in the NFL. Montana accomplished the feat with Notre Dame in college and won 4 Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers.

The Bengals captured the AFC Championship with some key contributions from other Buckeyes. Sam Hubbard produced a clutch sack late while Vonn Bell recorded an interception that swung the game in overtime. Cincinnati awaits the winner of the NFC Championship Game between the Los Angeles Rams and San Francisco 49ers.
