Ohio State’s offense is entering a new era as it moves on from CJ Stroud, and also begins the Brian Hartline era, but analyst Joel Klatt isn’t worried about the Buckeyes.

He broke down the Buckeyes’ “shoe fillers” on “The Joel Klatt Show” Monday afternoon.

Klatt believes Ohio State’s pedigree and experience will make for an easy transition for its new offense.

“Even though you’ve got Brian Hartline, who’s technically a new offensive coordinator, even though you’ve got a new quarterback, whether it’s Kyle McCord or some other player there, you still have Ryan Day,” Klatt said. “If you look at his track record there’s 2 things that jump out to me. One is, really the majority of his career, he’s had first-year quarterbacks. You can assume on pretty good grounds and strong grounds, that the quarterback will be fine regardless of who it is.”

Klatt expects head coach Ryan Day to guide the offense well if Hartline struggles at all and he believes Day’s experience with new quarterbacks will serve the Buckeyes well.

Ohio State will begin the new era on Sept. 2 when it takes on Indiana in its season opener.
