Chase Young is going to be a first-round NFL Draft pick when the 2020 NFL Draft rolls around. The only question is how high the Ohio State defensive end will go.

There’s more to Young’s draft status than just his talent, as teams have to fill the biggest needs on their roster. It’s a big reason why projections can sometimes be hard to predict. But if Joel Klatt had a football team, he’d likely take the Buckeye star with the No. 1 overall pick.

On Wednesday, Klatt made his weekly appearance on The Herd with Colin Cowherd to talk about some of the top college stars right now. While Cowherd was all about quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Joe Burrow, Klatt wanted to talk about Young.

Why? He believes Young is the only lock to be an NFL Hall of Famer at the end of his career.

“I believe that there’s only one guy a draft where you can be ‘that’s a Hall of Fame talent,’ and Chase Young is that guy,” Klatt said. “You can see him with a gold jacket, there’s no doubt.”

Klatt furthered his case for Young, saying he knows Young will work out in the NFL.

“I know Chase Young is going to work out in the NFL. I know it. These quarterbacks, I’m not sure. …I’m just telling you, the best prospect in the draft, the only one with Hall of Fame projection talent is Chase Young.”

So far, Young has registered 13.5 sacks, 29 tackles, forced five fumbles and blocked a field goal. He’s currently serving a two-game suspension handed down by the NCAA, but will be back on the field in two Saturdays when Ohio State hosts Penn State.
