Joel Klatt points to most impressive aspect of Ohio State's undefeated start to 2024
Joel Klatt has emerged as one of the top voices in college football over the last decade, and the FOX analyst and former Colorado QB is high on the Ohio State Buckeyes heading into Week 5 of the 2024 season.
Ohio State is coming off a dominating 49-14 home win over Marshall. While the Buckeyes’ toughest games on this season’s schedule are ahead of them, they have put up 157 points on offense after 3 games and held their opponents to a combined 20 total points in that same span.
On his podcast that came out Monday morning, Klatt was discussing the teams he views as the elite squads in college football so far. He mentioned he’s gotten to see Texas, Alabama and Ohio State in-person over the last few weeks and is impressed with the 2024 Buckeyes.
“First what impressed me about Ohio State is the culture, being around them,” Klatt said. “Very similar to Texas, very bought in. They have this culture with a lot of veterans that is purposeful with urgency.”
When it comes to the actual players on the field, Klatt has been blown away by the Buckeyes RB duo.
“On the field, what impressed me more than anything was the 2 running backs,” Klatt continued. “Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson are elite players, and in the run game, you’re starting to see now Chip Kelly and some schematics and run game styles they just didn’t have before.”
The FOX analyst also pointed out how talented the Ohio State WR corps is this season.
“The wide receiver group? Totally ridiculous,” Klatt continued. “Best wide receiver group in the country.”
Klatt did make a point to mention he had concerns about the Buckeyes’ pass rush, particularly against mobile QBs. He also noted that Will Howard hasn’t shined in a big moment yet and he’s anxious to see if he can rise to the occasion with matchups against Penn State, Oregon and Michigan still ahead.
