Hancock suffered a significant leg injury in training camp in preparation for the 2022 season. He was set to be a key player in the secondary.

In three games played last season, Hancock accounted for 3 total tackles, 1 solo tackle, and 1 pass breakup.

Hancock is a former 4-star prospect in the 2021 recruiting class, where he was the 73rd-best overall prospect and the 5th-best cornerback, according to the 247Sports Composite.

The defense for the Buckeyes currently ranks 10th in the nation in points allowed per game (15.7) and 7th in passing yards allowed per game (160.3). Hancock looks to help the Buckeyes remain as one of the top defenses.
