Josh Pate explains why he's not worried about Ryan Day's play-calling
Josh Pate is not worried about Ryan Day’s play-calling.
The Buckeyes are still undefeated on the season after a 44-31 win over Penn State Saturday, despite some saying his play-calling on offense could use some work. Still, the Buckeyes scored 40+ on a strong Penn State defense.
Pate isn’t worried for a different reason. He explained why on Sunday.
“I look down at my phone, I see a text that says ‘I don’t know about Ryan Day, bro.’ I say what do you mean you don’t know about him? He says ‘well, his play-calling is a little suspect.’ and so I respond and I tell this fine individual he’d wrap you into an intellectual pretzel less than 10 seconds into a conversation about play-calling, but even if you’re right I still don’t care. You know what play he called, you know what play I loved from Ryan Day? It came after last year, it was the following play: We’re not good enough on defense, I’m going to hire Jim Knowles. And he did, and now Ohio State has been on the ropes twice this year and defense has won 2 games for him. Guess who hired Jim Knowles?”
Ryan Day play-calling slander ehh?
