J.T. Tuimoloau had a special game against Penn State. According to The Athletic’s Jason Starrett, he set an FBS record.

Tuimoloau is now the only FBS player in this century to have 2 interceptions, 2 sacks, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery in a single game.

Tuimoloau’s final stat line was 6 total tackles, 2 sacks, 2 interceptions, and 3 tackles for loss. That performance also included a pick-6 in the fourth quarter to completely seal the win.

Ohio State used the turnovers that he caused to score 28 points in the fourth quarter. It’s worth noting that Penn State led at one point that quarter, 21-16.

Ohio State went on to beat Penn State 44-31. Tuimoloau had 3 of the defense’s 4 turnovers. Zach Harrison intercepted Sean Clifford for one of them, while Tuimoloau sacked Clifford and recovered a fumble to go along with the pair of interceptions.

The Buckeyes are now 8-0 partly because of Tuimoloau’s efforts. He’s only in his second year with the program, but a star may have been born at Beaver Stadium.

What a showing from the Ohio State defensive end.
