Julian Fleming will not be leaving the B1G for his next destination.

A former 5-star recruit for Ohio State, Fleming played 4 seasons in the loaded wide receiver room for the Buckeyes. According to Hayes Fawcett with On3 Sports, Fleming will head to Penn State in 2024.

Coming out of high school, Fleming was the top WR and the No. 3 overall recruit in the country per the 247 Sports Composite. He was also the top player from Pennsylvania out of Southern Columbia High School in Catawissa, PA.

After sparing playing time in his first two seasons, Fleming broke through with 533 and 6 touchdowns in the 2022 season. He regressed a bit with Kyle McCord under center and finished the 2023 season with 26 catches for 270 yards without a touchdown.

Fleming delivered a career-high 105 receiving yards against Iowa in 2022 as the only 100-yard game of his time with the Buckeyes. His career-high mark for catches is 6 in the season opener against Indiana.

Fleming’s usage in Columbus was unlikely to bounce back next season, even without Marvin Harrison Jr. in the lineup. Carnell Tate appears poised for a breakout season, Brandon Inniss will get a full offseason to develop and Jeremiah Smith arrives on campus as the nation’s No. 1 prospect ready to make an immediate impact.

However, the move is a big win for Penn State at a major position of need for the program. The Nittany Lions WR room was underwhelming for most of the 2023 season, and Fleming should step into a spot where he can make an immediate impact.
