Julian Sayin got into the fun in Week 2 as Ohio State was able to empty its bench against Western Michigan. With the Buckeyes leading big all night long, they turned to Sayin after Will Howard started and Devin Brown saw action in reserve.

Late in the fourth quarter, Sayin was given a chance to see the field and even throw the ball a few times. In fact, Ryan Day had the offense go for it on 4th-and-1 at one point, and the play call from Chip Kelly was a beauty.

Instead of plunging it straight ahead with a short run, Ohio State rolled the pocket and had Sayin throwing the ball down field. Sayin found Bennett Christian in stride as Christian rolled 55 yards for the first career score for both players in the big win.

Sayin and Christian were the 6th and 7th Buckeyes to score touchdowns in the blowout win over Western Michigan. After a slow start for the offense a week ago, things were much smoother and efficient all night long in Week 2.

While Sayin is unlikely to get many snaps this fall, it’s good to see he can let it loose when his number is called upon.
