Ohio State is missing 23 players today along with four coaches. But what they still have is Justin Fields. And against Michigan State, that appears to be the only thing that matters.

Playing beyond shorthanded against Sparty, the Buckeyes hardly looked like they missed a beat on their opening drive outside of the shaky snaps from the center. The drive was capped by Fields making a nimble play with his feet and putting Ohio State ahead early.

On this one play, Fields showed us how much he’s making up for the significant absences on the Ohio State offense. He shakes all sorts of pressure coming his way and then just dances his way into the end zone. It’s beyond impressive.

Though the second drive wasn’t quite as impressive, we still should marvel at what Fields did leading Ohio State on that first drive. Fields was involved with seven of the 12 plays on that scoring drive. He completed two passes and ran three times, including that touchdown run to cap off the drive.
