The Chicago Bears made their move to grab Justin Fields in the NFL Draft, and he is now getting ready to put in the work.
Heading into rookie minicamp, Fields was asked about the possibility to be the starting quarterback in Chicago. Despite being a first-round pick, he is not taking anything for granted, though that will not stop him from doing all that he can to boost his stock.
“I think everyone on our team should be striving for a starting job,” said Fields. “If you’re not, then there’s no reason to be here.
“Of course, I’m gonna do everything that I can to get that starting job. It’s not up to me, Coach Nagy has a set plan on my development, but I’m just going to work hard and keep grinding every day.”
CBS Sports shared Fields’ comments:

After the draft, Bears head coach Matt Nagy discussed adding Fields to the roster, along with veteran quarterback Andy Dalton. Among other things, it sounds like Nagy will try and utilize both quarterbacks at times this season.
