It sounds like Justin Fields is on a mission.
The former Ohio State quarterback was selected No. 11 overall in the first round of Thursday night’s NFL Draft. He was taken by the Chicago Bears and slipping slightly outside the Top 10, where he’d been expected to land.
Before the 2020 college football season started, Fields was projected to the No. 2 quarterback taken in the draft. But since the end of the year, he was criticized fairly harshly, resulting in the former Buckeye falling on some boards.
But he’s going to use that as fuel once he gets to Chicago.
“I’ve gone through situations where I haven’t been chosen,” Fields said, per Nathan Baird of Cleveland.com. “I think the world has seen the outcome of that.”

Sounds like a message to the 10 teams that passed on Fields in this year’s draft.
After hearing his name called Thursday night, Fields was appreciative of the Bears selecting him with the 11th pick. He’s excited to get to the Windy City and start working.
“They’re going to get a hard worker, a guy that’s going to put himself out there to win every game. A leader on and off the field,” Fields said after being selected. “So I’m just excited and ready to go to work.”
Fields was the first B1G player selected in this year’s draft.
