Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears are mired in a 1-4 start to the NFL season, and the team is losing and struggling once again against the Minnesota Vikings. To make matters worse, Fields is now battling an injury.

According to the FOX broadcast, Fields was seen heading to the locker room with training staff personnel attending to his right arm, hand or shoulder on the walk. The injury in question appeared to happen on a play with Fields scrambling out of the pocket and going down to the ground hard on his right arm.

The FOX broadcast has since reported Fields’ ailment is related to his right hand. After briefly listing his status as questionable to return, Chicago has since downgraded Fields’ status to out for the remainder of the game vs. Minnesota.

Prior to the injury, Fields was 6-for-10 for 58 yards and an interception and has been sacked 4 times. He had rushed for 46 yards, but Chicago managed just a pair of field goals before his injury.

The play of the Bears and Fields in particular has come under fire this season, but he was coming off his best game of the year with 4 touchdown passes in a 40-20 win over Washington. Many analysts have also been critical of Chicago’s usage of the QB and lack of weapons around Fields.

Hopefully, this injury isn’t a long-term setback for the former Ohio State star.
