Justin Fields has found his stride with the Chicago Bears. Though team results have been slow to come by, Fields is on a dramatic roll in his second NFL season.

In Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, Fields broke the NFL record for rushing yards by a QB over any 5-game span during the Super Bowl era. He finished that game with 4 total TDs and over 300 yards of offense as the Bears lost by one point after missing a PAT earlier in the game.

Nevertheless, ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky believes Fields would be in the MVP conversation for the NFL if the Bears were a winning team. Orlovsky admitted during Monday’s Get Up show that Fields won’t win the award in part because of Chicago’s record, but he stands by the fact Fields is playing his way into the conversation.

“I also said this, Greenie. If Justin was somehow able to overcome (the bad situation in Chicago), he would be in the MVP conversation. I do not think that’s an outrageous statement,” Orlovsky claimed. “I honestly believe Justin’s play is going to warrant him getting into that conversation.

“Now, he’s not gonna win it with the way Tua (Tagovailoa) is playing and Patrick (Mahomes) and all that stuff. But he has been so remarkable over this past month that you sit there and say that player — if he was on a team that is going to win more — would be in the MVP conversation.”
