The NFL released player merchandise sales data this week, and former Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields tops the list for all rookies.

He beat out former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence and ex-Penn State linebacker Micah Parsons for the honor.

Fields is No. 6 in the entire NFL from March 1 through May 31, according to the release. It’s worth noting Fields wasn’t drafted by the Chicago Bears until April 29, so he made up a lot of ground in the month of May.

Considering Bears fans have been searching for a quarterback of Fields’ caliber for decades, this isn’t much of a surprise. He’s like to become the starter early on during Chicago’s 2021 campaign and has the talent to stick.

He’s coming off an excellent season with the Buckeyes where he led Ohio State all the way to the National Championship game. His run included a victory over Clemson in the College Football Playoff semifinals where he threw six touchdown passes.

Chicago opens its 2021 campaign with the Los Angeles Rams on Sept. 12.
