When it comes to the 2020 Heisman Trophy race, two names have been leading the pack: Justin Fields and Trevor Lawrence. As the season creeps closer, though, it appears the Ohio State quarterback is edging out the Clemson star as the betting favorite.

According to the William Hill Sports Betting website, Fields is currently listed with the best odds to claim the 2020 Heisman Trophy, nudging Lawrence from that spot. He’s also the only B1G player to be included on the list, tweeted out by the Cover 3 Podcast.

After accounting for over 3,500 total yards and 50 touchdowns a year ago, Fields is at +350 to claim the Heisman Trophy come December. Lawrence is closely behind at +400.

Those two have created separation, with the next-best odds going to Georgia quarterback Jamie Newman at +1000. Below is the complete list of odds:

Fields and Lawrence are both from Georgia but have played against each other just once in their college football careers. That game was last season’s Fiesta Bowl, a contest Clemson defeated Ohio State in the semifinal round of the College Football Playoff.

Both Clemson an Ohio State are favorites to return to the College Football Playoff this season, and both quarterbacks are projected first-round picks. It will likely be a tight race for the Heisman Trophy, and it would be a lot of fun to see these two quarterbacks battle on the field one more time.
