Justin Fields did not play his best against the Houston Texans, and he knows he has to be better. The Athletics’ Adam Jahns posted what Fields said on social media following the game.
Fields went 8-for-17 with 106 yards passing and 2 interceptions in the Chicago Bears’ 23-20 victory. He also had 47 yards rushing as well. Fields was very critical of himself after how he played even though the Bears ending up winning.
“Straight up, I just played like – I want to say the ‘A’ word, but I’m not going to do that,” said Fields. “But I just played like trash. I played terrible. And really, I just got to get better.”
Bears QB Justin FIelds had a harsh assessment of his own performance vs. the Texans: “Straight up, I just played like – I want to say the ‘A’ word, but I’m not going to do that. But I just played like trash. I played terrible. And really, I just got to get better.”

At the end of the day, the Bears are 2-1 through the first three games of the season. However, if they want to challenge Aaron Rodgers for the NFC North, Fields is going to have to start playing better.
The Bears have not won the division since 2018. That team finished 12-4 in the regular season, and eventually lost to the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.
Fields will have a chance to play better in Week 4, with the Bears traveling to New Jersey to take on the New York Giants next.
