Justin Fields: ‘[We] definitely got the attention of a lot of people around the nation’

People shouldn’t be sleeping on Ohio State any longer. They shouldn’t have been after the first few weeks of the season.
The Buckeyes had no trouble through the first four weeks of the season, posting blowout win after blowout win. Nebraska was supposed to present the biggest challenge the Buckeyes have seen thus far. Maybe that was true, but Ohio State still didn’t have any trouble in a 48-7 blowout win on the road.
Now, the rest of the country is on alert. Right now, the Buckeyes look like the best team in the nation. Justin Fields had some thoughts on that after the game.
“I think before, a lot of people were sleeping on us,” Fields said in a postgame interview. “So it definitely got the attention of a lot of people around the nation.”

Indeed it did.
Both Kirk Herbstreit and Paul Finebaum have Ohio State listed as the No. 1 team in the country currently, with several other media folks joining that train. Through five weeks, they’ve certainly looked the part.
Ohio State gets another chance to prove its the nation’s top team in a top 25 matchup against Michigan State in Columbus.
