As he leaves Ohio State, Wilson put out a statement on social media Wednesday. He thanked the Buckeyes for 6 “life-changing years” with the program and acknowledged the support of AD Gene Smith, Meyer and Ryan Day.

Prior to joining the Buckeyes, Wilson was the head coach at Indiana from 2011-16, leading the Hoosiers to back-to-back bowl appearances during the 2015-16 seasons. He also has previous stints at Oklahoma and Northwestern and previously captured the 2008 Broyles Award while with the Sooners.

During his time at Ohio State, the Buckeyes have maintained a prolific offense while working under Day and alongside Brian Hartline. Best of luck to Wilson as he returns to the head coaching ranks for 2023.
