Mel Kiper Jr. admits that he doesn’t like getting caught up in the combine. His first mock draft since the showcase in Indianapolis reflects that for the most part.

Despite the fact that they all had above average combines, his top three B1G selections didn’t shift at all, nor did Indiana’s Jason Spriggs. In fact, Vonn Bell, who didn’t even run the 40-yard dash, was put into Kiper’s first round.

But even though Kiper sticks to his guns, he made an exception for Darron Lee. Kiper said that “nobody at the combine was better than Lee was,” and he moved him from a non-first rounder all the way up to No. 17. That’s high praise from somebody that has as big a voice in the NFL draft scouting/analyst community as anyone.
