Kirby Smart reveals how Ohio State receiver corps influenced Georgia WRs
Kirby Smart revealed what some of his receivers used for motivation in Saturday’s win over Ohio State in the College Football Playoff. This was all said at the press conference after the game.
Smart said that WR coach Bryan McClendon did a good job at firing up the Georgia wideouts, along with plenty of other coaches. Smart also complimented the Buckeye WRs.

“I thought B-Mac did a good job selling to our team,” said Smart. “We had several coaches stand up and speak on Friday, and he talked about the personal respect level that he has for the attention their receivers are getting, and they certainly deserve that. They’re really good, really talented.”
However, Smart was quick to mention how the Georgia receiving core has some talent too. The Bulldogs’ receivers accounted for nearly 400 yards receiving in the 42-41 win.
“But we’ve got some good wideouts too, and they have a chip on their shoulder, and they want to make plays. They have a quarterback that can get them the ball. A lot of those guys have been able to come back. It’s really been my committee when you look at it. You see Arian (Smith), A.D. (Mitchell), Ladd (McConkey), all those guys making plays for us in the passing game. Marcus (Rosemy-Jacksaint) has made big plays.”
After beating Ohio State, Georgia will take on TCU in the national championship on Jan. 9.
