Kirk Herbstreit will undoubtedly be on the mic for one of ESPN’s broadcasts of the College Football Playoff. But, which semifinal matchup will the popular analyst be calling?

On Sunday, the Playoff field was eventually unveiled. Those matchups will be Georgia vs. Ohio State in the Peach Bowl and Michigan vs. TCU in the Fiesta Bowl.

During ESPN’s Selection Show broadcast, Herbstreit was asked by his broadcast partners which game he’ll be calling on New Year’s Eve. Rece Davis was quick to chime in:

“I think you know the answer to that,” said Davis.

Herbstreit and the rest of the crew were quick to point out they do not know the broadcast details and joked about the situation on air. However, it’s fair to speculate that Davis might be referencing the Ohio State vs. Georgia matchup.

Herbstreit himself is a former Buckeye and has called a number of Ohio State games across his career. The Buckeyes vs. Bulldogs also stands out as a potentially special matchup in a B1G vs. SEC showdown in Atlanta.

We will find out where Herbstreit winds up for the semifinals down the road, but it sounds like it is no secret that he has a preference.
