Say what you want about Ohio State, but the Buckeyes have gotten it done when it comes to asserting dominance within the B1G.

From a national standpoint, it seems like forever ago when they won the first ever College Football Playoff. But, since then, they have had the rest of the B1G in the palm of its hands.

Sure, losses pop up from time to time, but when it comes to sustained dominance, Ohio State is atop the list when talking B1G football. It has won four of the last six B1G titles.

On the latest CFB Podcast with Herbie, Pollack and Negandhi Show, analyst Kirk Herbstreit talked about the Buckeyes and how dominant they have become within the conference:

Ohio State has separated themselves from the country with Clemson and Alabama. If they’ve separated themselves from the country, they’ve obviously separated themselves from the Big Ten,” Herbstreit said. “But I do think there are teams that can compete, I don’t know if they can compete with Ohio State, but they’re worthy of being looked at as teams that could work their way up into the top 10. That’s where you talk about Penn State and Michigan and Wisconsin. I think it’s kind of obvious that (Ohio State) has separated themselves.”

Is it that obvious? Well, let’s be realistic. Which team should have won the B1G the last five or so years?

Ohio State.

Who is the program, regardless of who leaves — players and coaches — that on a yearly basis can legitimately compete for a national championship?

Ohio State.

Again, the Buckeyes can be beat. That’s proven almost every single year. But Herbstreit is right about the recent past: Ohio State has separated itself from the pack alongside Clemson and Alabama.
