Kirk Herbstreit shares statement, update from hospitalized son
Kirk Herbstreit shared an update from his son, Zak Herbstreit, who is currently in the hospital.
Tuesday afternoon, it was reported that Zak was hospitalized at Ohio State’s Wexner Medical Center. His condition is stable and being monitored per that report.
Later on, Kirk shared a statement update from Zak regarding his status. According to the update, Zak said the hospitalization came as a result of “not feeling right” the past couple of weeks and test results from Friday.
Here is the statement from Zak on his status:
“I have had a bit of a setback these past couple of weeks. Not feeling right. Culminated with tests results this past Friday that forced me into the hospital. I have some of the best cardiologists looking after me, and I am beyond appreciative. We are doing a number of tests and conjuring a plan to ensure that I will be able to be back to feeling normal again. I appreciate the overwhelming support over the past couple of days. I am feeling good and hope to be out of the hospital soon.”
Kirk Herbstreit expressed gratitude for those that have reached out with concern for Zak. He went on to note Zak can be reached on Twitter by anyone that would like to drop a note of encouragement.
He is awake and on his phone from time to time. If you’d like to send him a note he’s at @ZHerbstreit
Again thanks very much for your thoughts and prayers for Zak. https://t.co/GSSprpD750
