Urban Meyer is bringing a couple of his buddies to Ohio State’s spring game.

You might have heard of them.

Ohio State announced that Hall of Fame coach Lou Holtz and Nike co-founder Phil Knight will be on hand to serve as guest coaches for the Buckeyes’ spring game next month.

“I am very close to each of these individuals and I have enjoyed their friendship over many years,” Meyer said in a release, “but even more I respect the impact they have had on Ohio State and college football. I am looking forward to having Coach Holtz and Phil Knight on our campus as guest coaches, and I am very appreciative they want to take part in and support our spring game.”

Both Holtz and Knight had well-documented visits to Columbus within the last year.

Holtz came to Ohio State for its annual Student Appreciation Day last April and infamously was forced to change out of his blue sweater. Holtz spent time on Woody Hayes’ staff in Columbus and was a part of the 1968 national championship team.

Knight went to Columbus for the Buckeyes’ double overtime win against Michigan and addressed the team with a postgame speech. Ohio State is one of Nike’s marquee college athletic departments having worked together for the last two decades. Last year, they agreed on a historic 15-year deal.

Ohio State’s spring game is set for Saturday, April 15 at 12:30 p.m.
