Kyle McCord has a lot of confidence in Ohio State’s wide receivers corps as he prepares to battle for the starting job.

While speaking with reporters on Wednesday, McCord said the Buckeyes’ WR room of Marvin Harrison Jr., Emeka Egbuka and Julian Fleming is the best in the country.

“Those three without a doubt are the best receiving corps in the nation,” McCord said.

Looking at the numbers, it would be hard to argue with McCord’s assessment.

Harrison returns as perhaps the nation’s best wide receiver after going for 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns last season. He’s currently projected to be the top wide receiver off the board for the 2024 NFL Draft.

Egbuka wasn’t far behind Harrison’s production last season. He caught 74 passes for 1,151 yards and 10 scores of his own. Fleming finished 3rd on the team with 553 yards and 6 touchdowns in what was a breakout 2022 campaign for him.

McCord is currently battling with Devin Brown for the starting job. Head coach Ryan Day previously said he hopes a clear choice will emerge as Ohio State’s starter early on in fall camp.

Ohio State opens the season with Indiana on Sept. 2.
