Kyle McCord was drawing heat early Saturday after a disastrously slow start for Maryland. He has responded in the second half and just delivered a clutch touchdown drive to give Ohio State a 2-score lead.

The first massive play came on 2nd-and-33 from his own 34-yard line. After one play went for a big loss and a delay of game backed up the Buckeyes, McCord targeted superstar Marvin Harrison Jr.

The deep ball from McCord was pure and perfectly placed over the outside shoulder with Harrison producing another incredible grab just inside the sideline.

After that big play, Ohio State went back to the air on first down. This time, McCord found tight end Cade Stover as Stover worked his way behind the defense.

The throw on this play was an easy one, but McCord hit Stover in stride with plenty of room to run. Maryland’s defense was unable to recover as Stover rolled into the end zone for the 27-17 lead with Ohio State inching closer to a win.
