Kyle McCord endorses Marvin Harrison Jr. for Heisman: 'I don't see how he's not in the mix'
Kyle McCord and the Ohio State Buckeyes knocked off No. 7 Penn State Saturday 20-12. By far the best offensive play on the field was Buckeyes WR Marvin Harrison Jr.
Harrison has been as consistent as they come this season. He totaled 11 receptions for 162 yards and a touchdown Saturday, adding to his total of 42 receptions for 766 yards and 6 touchdowns on the season.
Harrison has notched over 100 receiving yards and at least 1 touchdown in all but one of Ohio State’s past 5 games. There’s a reason Harrison is considered a high-end first round pick in next year’s NFL draft.
Following the game, McCord, Ohio State’s starting QB, raved about Harrison, insisting that he doesn’t see how Harrison would not be in the mix for the Heisman trophy.
Here’s what he had to say:
“Yeah, if it’s truly the award that goes to the best player in college football, I don’t see how he’s not in the mix,” McCord said. “What he’s done, especially the last few games, I don’t know if we’ve seen a stretch like that, just how consistent he is, how reliable he is. He’s done a great job and he’s a lot of fun to play with.”
Here’s more from Ohio State’s QB1:
Currently, Harrison is given +2453 odds to win the Heisman this season, the highest odds for a non-QB.
