Kyle McCord reportedly makes decision about 2024 season
Kyle McCord has reportedly made a decision about his 2024 season one day after coach Ryan Day was noncommittal about McCord starting the Buckeyes’ bowl game. Now, Adam Rittenberg of ESPN has reported that McCord is in the transfer portal.
McCord had an uneven season at Ohio State, and may be remembered for his 2 interceptions in the loss to Michigan, including one in the last minute of The Game with a shot at a game-winning drive.
“I just think that that’s kind of a long way away right now. We’re going to get back to work here, we had a practice last week, we’ll have a practice coming up this weekend,” Day said Sunday as Ohio State gets set to play Missouri in the Cotton Bowl. “Guys will get out there and compete and grind and we’ll take it from there.”
McCord, was in his third year with the Buckeyes, and won the starting job early in the season after he competed with Devin Brown. He was recruited by coach Ryan Day, and waited 2 years behind C.J. Stroud, now the Houston Texans’ starting quarterback.
