Kyle McCord was officially handed the reins of Ohio State’s offense this week. After looking like the player destined to be the starting quarterback, head coach Ryan Day officially gave McCord the title to begin the week.

In his first action as the full-time starter for the Buckeyes, McCord left little doubt that Day and the coaching staff made the right decision. The QB came out firing in the first half against Western Kentucky and was brilliant prior to the break.

McCord started the game going 13-for-15 for 271 yards with 3 touchdowns. Marvin Harrison Jr. was his favorite target with 4 catches for 118 yards and a brilliant 75-yard touchdown. Emeka Egbuka also hauled 2 touchdowns before the break.

While McCord had 3 touchdowns of his own at the break, he delivered 6 scoring drives for Ohio State in the half. That included a clinical opening drive that covered 75 yards in 8 plays and another drive that went 82 yards over 12 plays. He also finished the half with an electric drive with less than a minute to play.

Needless to say, the offense is in good hands, and fans and media alike were enjoying the show:
