Kyler Murray met with reporters in Arizona on Wednesday in anticipation of the Cardinals’ Week 2 contest against the Rams.

It was a quiet Week 1 for rookie wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. against the Bills. Harrison, the team’s first-round draft pick from this past April, was targeted just 3 times in Arizona’s 34-28 loss against Buffalo. Harrison recorded 1 catch for 4 yards.

Harrison — and fantasy owners who invested significant capital in drafting him this offseason — is certainly hoping for more opportunity in Week 2 and beyond.

When talking with reporters on Wednesday, Murray said his chemistry with Harrison will improve over time.

“Obviously it was my first game with Marv,” Murray said. “We didn’t get a lot of reps in the preseason. We didn’t get any. So, we’ve got to out there and prove that we’re capable of that.”

Murray also said there will come a time when he’s more willing to force the ball to Harrison’s direction, even if he appears to be covered. Murray compared him to former Cardinals star receiver DeAndre Hopkins in that regard.

Murray previously indicated that he’s more focused on playing within the offense “getting the ball to where it’s supposed to go” as opposed to making sure certain receivers get enough targets.

Harrison is 1 of 93 Ohio State first-round NFL Draft picks in history. He was the only Buckeye to be picked in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

Harrison will go into this weekend’s game against the Rams looking for his first-career NFL touchdown. Over at FanDuel, Harrison is +175 to score a touchdown on Sunday against Los Angeles. He’s also +1100 to be the first TD scorer in that game.

Kickoff is at 4:05 ET on Sunday afternoon.
