With camp starting across college football this week, head coaches are starting to get into a rhythm and beginning to plan for the opening kickoff.

Lane Kiffin and Florida Atlantic have quite the challenge in their first week of the season, traveling to Columbus to take on Ohio State. With such a daunting task in Week 1, it’d be easy to understand if the Owls were zeroed in on the Buckeyes, trying to figure out a way to pull off a colossal upset.

That’s not the case in Boca Raton, though. At least not yet.

“That’s difficult obviously, but we’re not worried about them today and have a lot of work to do,” Kiffin said during Get Up!. “We’ll eventually get to them, but great program with great players and we’ll have our hands full going out there.”

The Week 1 matchup between Ohio State and Florida Atlantic will be the first-ever meeting between the two programs. It’ll also be the first game for Ryan Day as the permanent head coach of the Buckeyes.

Day served as interim head coach for three games during Urban Meyer’s suspension last season. He was 3-0 in those games.
