Everyone in Columbus is getting in on the Michigan hate this week. Yes, even those who were born just a few days before Ohio State battles the Wolverines on the gridiron are showing off the scarlet and gray.

The Ohio State Wexner Medical Center tweeted out several photos of newborns on Wednesday morning, a couple days before “The Game” commences in Ann Arbor on Saturday. But the newborns weren’t the story of those images — it was the swag they were swaddled with.

Yes, those babies are wrapped in “Beat ‘X’ichinga” blankets and wearing stocking hats made to look like the Buckeyes’ traditional helmet. The date of Saturday’s game is also embroidered on the blanket.

That will be a pretty incredible keepsake, especially if Ohio State wins.

Columbus is always an entertaining place this time of year. And the blankets for the newborns are just the icing on the cake. Several people on campus have worked on covering up every “M” on campus with a red “X.”

Like always, it’s been another festive year at Ohio State in the days leading up to college football’s best rivalry. It’s pretty cool that the newborns get to be a part of the rivalry, too.
