Lou Holtz did not hold back in his assessment of Ryan Day on Friday. The former Notre Dame coach and college football legend outlined all the big games Ohio State has lost in recent years.

“He has lost to Alabama, Georgia, Clemson, Michigan twice, and everybody beats them because they’re more physical than Ohio State, and I think Notre Dame will take that same approach,” Holtz said.

Holtz admitted that Notre Dame’s schedule is nothing to write home about, but it doesn’t bother him because the Fighting Irish practice good on good during the week.

“Notre Dame is a better football team,” Holtz said, and noted that because Notre Dame has the best offensive line in the country, Sam Hartman won’t get his jersey dirty all year.

Holtz then channeled his locker room speeches of years past and said it would be a close game, but Notre Dame would win, “Because we believe. Forget who in the hell we’re playing. Just tell Ohio State this: You better bring your lunch because it’s going to be a full day’s work.”
